About the event
Have you ever had a question come up, linger in your mind only to disappear? “How does a plant know what leaf pattern to produce?” “Why do certain sounds sound more appealing than others?“ “How does one nation gain so much power?” ”Why does a smell suddenly transport me to a different place?”
Yes, of course! These bubbling questions are integral to humanity and probably the most wonderful thing about our existence. But how often do we make time (and space) in our minds and lives to pursue this side quest? ‘A Brief Study Of’ at the Eleven AM Club is an attempt at that — making time to deeply learn, read, and write uninterrupted, along with others dedicated to the cause.
I imagine all of us bringing questions, books, and bookmarked articles each Sunday, and settling in for reading and writing in silence at the club.
If this is something you would like to do, come by. ABSO is an experiment, and hopefully, we have enough of us over time to continue meeting.
📍Coro, 2nd floor
Schedule:
Three silent blocks at 3:20, 4:20 and 5:20pm.
Please note that you can read/ work through any topic of your choice.
The idea is that we spend a slow and thoughtful afternoon browsing, discussing, note-taking, and collecting materials that spark curiosity.
See you!
