About the event
Welcome to Pint of View – Bangalore's first-ever community where classroom-styled lectures meet drinks in pubs and bars.
About the lecture
Why do countries go to war when both sides end up worse off? Why do nuclear powers keep weapons they will never actually use?
And why does the car that flashes its headlights first get to go?
In this talk, we will look to game theory to answer these and other questions.
We will go from the cold war to the impending collapse of the world order.
On the way we will set up a mock naval battle, meet a rogue general, and see why Viru from Sholay was a brilliant game theorist.
No prior economics needed!
