About the Talk
How can microscopic algae influence Earth's climate? Dive into the hidden world of diatoms, the ocean's biological carbon pump, and the surprising science behind one of climate science's strangest questions: could adding iron to the ocean trigger an Ice Age? Explore how tiny organisms move carbon from the atmosphere into the deep sea — and how scientists use the ocean to understand Earth's climate past and future.
About the Speaker
Dr. Diksha Sharma is a marine scientist and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at Sorbonne University, Paris. Her research focuses on ocean chemistry, marine carbon cycling and the role of microscopic life in shaping Earth's climate. She has previously conducted research at CSIR–National Institute of Oceanography in Goa and Dartmouth College in the United States.
