About the event
Why is the clitoris still treated like a mysterious bonus feature when it is literally the only human organ designed purely for pleasure?
In Why Women Don't Orgasm (And Whose Fault Is It, Anyway?): A Live Investigation into Sex Ed, the Clitoris, and 3,000 Years of Bad Information, Dr Tanaya (better known online as Dr Cuterus) takes us on a funny, furious, and fascinating journey through the history of how women’s pleasure got ignored, misunderstood, medicalised, shamed, and occasionally just… erased from the textbooks (literally).
This isn’t a lecture about awkward conversations.
It’s a lecture about how knowledge is created, how misinformation survives for centuries, and why asking better questions can fundamentally change the way we understand ourselves.
Whether you’re interested in science, medicine, psychology, history, gender, or simply enjoy questioning things you’ve always taken for granted, we think you’ll leave seeing the human body a little differently.
And this time come prepared with your questions!

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dr Tanaya is a doctor, author, and sexual health educator who has spent years making conversations about bodies, sex, periods, pleasure, and reproductive health feel less shameful and more understandable for millions of people online. In this talk, she unpacks how bad anatomy, patriarchal science, cultural discomfort, and centuries of misinformation have shaped the way we think about sex, women’s orgasms, and why so many people still know so little about one of the body’s most important pleasure organs, or even where it is.
From the clitoris’ surprisingly dramatic scientific history to the very real orgasm gap in heterosexual relationships, we’ll explore what defines good sex, whose pleasure gets prioritised, and Everything Nobody Tells You About Your Body - which also happens to be the title of her bestselling book.
