About the lecture

Delhi’s Central Ridge: The Big Dismantling traces the history of Delhi’s Central Ridge, beginning in 1911, and looks at how it became the landscape we know today. The lecture will also examine the Forest Department’s ongoing interventions in the name of “restoration” and their impact on the Ridge. 

About the speaker

Pradip Krishen is a naturalist, environmentalist and filmmaker based in Delhi. He is the author of Trees of Delhi: A Field Guide and Jungle Trees of Central India, and has worked on ecological restoration projects including Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park and Kishan Bagh. He is currently working to save Delhi’s Central Ridge from being dismantled.
