A 90-minute session that turns a room of strangers into collaborators, using breakfast and a blank canvas as the icebreaker.

What to expect:

We start with a sketching warm-up, no drawing skill needed. 2 minutes for a fast first mark, 5 minutes to add detail, 10 minutes to sit with it longer. The goal is to get you out of your heads and comfortable doing something imperfectly in front of others, a useful reset for a room full of people used to pitching.

Then breakfast, themed around dishes from different countries. Each dish features a different cuisine as part of the morning spread, giving you a natural reason to move around, compare plates, and strike up conversation before the room even gets to do some real art.

Once breakfast winds down, we split into groups of four. Each group shares one surface and a set of things to paint. One person makes a mark, passes it on, the next builds on it, until the piece belongs to all four.

Most networking formats ask you to talk about yourselves first. This one asks you to make something with you hands, and where conversation happens naturally while you’re working on something together.

What you’ll leave with:

A shared piece your group built together - a small, lasting proof of who was in the room, built together rather than just exchanging cards or phone numbers.
